Tiger shark fun!

A couple of months ago, a friend from Germany asked me if I’d be up for doing an illustration for one of his projects. Ponyhell Records produce limited editions of minidiscs, and these usually come with some artwork. He’s done some pretty amazing stuff in the past – Check it out!

Needless to say, I was quite tickled to be asked, but then got a bit nervous about the darkness required (and requested) for this kinda thing.

Anyways, here’s what I came up with. I immediately thought that gocco prints would be the best way to go, and I liked the idea of having a coloured background with a black top image. Having said that, I’ve never done two layer printing on the gocco before, so there’s potential for this to turn into umm… an adventure. I kinda like how the background takes a bit of a double take. At a decent size, the picture works quite well, in my humble opinion, slightly worried about it having to be quite small, though…

For the moment, of course I’m not even sure if Maik will like it, waiting to hear back…

Edit to add: All systems are go! :^)
